اى مؤمنان! هنگامى كه زنان باايمان [با جدا شدن از همسرانشان] هجرت كنان [از ديار كفر] به سوى شما مىآيند، آنان را [از جهت ايمان] بيازماييد، البته خدا خود به ايمان آنان داناتر است. پس اگر آنان را باايمان تشخيص داديد، آنان را به سوى كافران [كه همسرانشان هستند] باز مگردانيد، نه اين زنان بر كافران حلالاند، و نه آن كافران بر اين زنان حلالاند، و مهريهاى كه همسران كافر به زنان مؤمن خود دادهاند به آنان بپردازيد، و بر شما گناهى نيست در صورتى كه مهريهشان را به آنان بدهيد، با آنان ازدواج كنيد، و به عقد و پيوندهاى زنان كافر [تان كه به كفار پيوستهاند] پاىبند نباشيد [كه آن عقد و پيوند باطل شده و وظيفۀ شما رها كردن آنان است] و آنچه را شما [براى همسران مرتد و فرارى خود كه به كافران پناهنده شدهاند] هزينه كردهايد [از كافران] بخواهيد، و آنان هم بايد آنچه را هزينه كردهاند از شما درخواست كنند؛ اين حكم خداست كه ميان شما حكم مىكند، و خدا دانا و حكيم است

(اين آيه بعد از صلح حديبيه نازل شده و دستور به بازنگرداندن زن يكى از مشركين مكه است كه مسلمان شده است) اى كسانى كه ايمان آوردهايد زنانى را كه به عنوان اسلام و ايمان (از ديار خود) هجرت كرده و بهسوى شما آمدند خدا به ايمانشان داناتر است شما از آنها تحقيق كرده و امتحانشان كنيد اگر با ايمانشان شناختيد آنها را (بپذيريد) و ديگر به شوهران كافرشان برمگردانيد كه هرگز اين زنان مؤمن، برآن شوهران كافر، حلال نيستند، ولى مهر و نفقهاى را كه شوهران مخارج آن زنان كردهاند، به آنها بپردازيد و باكى نيست كه شما با آنان ازدواج كنيد در صورتى كه اجر و مهرشان را بدهيد و هرگز به پيوندهاى قبلى آنها توجّه مكنيد (و اگر زنانتان از اسلام به كفر برگشتند و همسر كافران شدند) از آنها مهر و نفقه بخواهيد آنها هم (اگر زنانشان ايمان آوردند و با شما ازدواج كردند) و مهر و نفقه را از شما درخواست كردند (بايد بدهيد) اين داورى خداوند ميان شماست همانا خداوند به حقايق امور دانا و به مصالح مردم آگاه است

هان! اى كسانى كه ايمان آوردهايد، هرگاه زنان مؤمن مهاجر به پيش شما آيند، ايشان را بيازماييد، خداوند به ايمانشان داناترست، پس اگر ايشان را مؤمن شناختيد، ديگر ايشان را به جانب كفّار بازمگردانيد، نه ايشان بر آنان حلالند و نه آنان بر ايشان حلالند، و آنچه [شوهرانشان] به آنان خرج كردهاند به ايشان [شوهران] بدهيد، و بر شما گناهى نيست چنان چنانچه مهرهايشان را به ايشان پرداختيد، با ايشان ازدواج كنيد، و به عصمتهاى زنان كافر دل مبنديد، و [هرگاه زنان شما كفرورزان پيش ايشان روند] آنچه خرج كردهايد، از [كفّار] طلب كنيد و آنان نيز آنچه خرج كردهاند از شما طلب كنند، اين حكم الهى است كه در بين شما داورى مىكند، و خداوند داناى حكيم است

اى كسانى كه ايمان آوردهايد، هرگاه زنان مؤمن هجرتكنان نزد شما آمدند، آنان را بيازماييد - خدا به ايمانشان داناتر است - پس اگر با ايمانشان دانستيد آنان را بهسوى كفّار بازنگردانيد؛ نه اينان براى آنان حلالند و نه آنان براى اينان، و آنچه را كه [شوهرانشان به عنوان مهر] هزينه كردهاند به آنان بدهيد. و بر شما گناهى نيست كه آنان را به زنى بگيريد، به شرط آنكه مهرشان را به آنان بدهيد. و پيمان زناشويى زنان كافر خود را نگاه نداريد [بلكه آنان را رها كنيد]. و آنچه را كه [به عنوان مهر] هزينه كردهايد [از كافران] بخواهيد؛ و كافران نيز بايد آنچه را كه [به عنوان مهر] هزينه كردهاند [از شما] طلب كنند. اين حكم خداست كه [برطبق آن] ميان شما داورى مىكند، و خدا دانا و حكيم است
